Big little brother: LEICHT plans support structure and glass façade of second EBO Tower
Since its official opening in 2001, the Ottobrunn Office Park in the municipality Ottobrunn, district of Munich has been home to numerous companies from the IT, financial and media industries, as well as law firms and doctors‘ surgeries. A 28-m office tower with a glass façade is both the central element and the landmark of the office park – at least, for the moment:
At the beginning of 2015, the Office Park is set to grow bigger, and the office tower will have a „little“ brother which is threatening to outshine it. The new tower is planned to rise 40 metres into the sky, with ten floors, and will sparkle in the Ottobrunn sun with its glass-steel building envelope, just like its big brother.
The second office tower is the first building block of an expansion concept which was commissioned by the Office Park’s private owners and designed by the Munich based Raupach Architects. Just like the first, the second tower will also be equipped with basement rooms and underground parking.
The planning of the support structure of the ten-floor office tower is being carried out by the Munich office of LEICHT Structural engineering and specialist consulting GmbH. They are also responsible for ingenious site supervision, fire protection design and facade planning. The Czerny Property Association from Ottobrunn is acting as the client on behalf of the owners.
