Successful, and ready-for-the press project: LEICHT about to appear in the yearbook of the German Federal Chamber of Engineers entitled „Ingenieurbaukunst 2014“
We have already reported about our commitment in the context of the Crossrail Canary Wharf Station construction:
Europe’s largest infrastructure and construction project is currently underway in London: About 18 billion euros has been invested to construct a 180 km long London underground regional express line with nine newly built stations which will complete the London and Greater London Rail Network by 2018.
Leicht was commissioned to run the Design-Bid-Build process for the façade and roof of the largest and most striking of the Crossrail stations at Canary Wharf, designed by Foster + Partners. We were responsible for the specialist construction management and the organisation of project-specific quality control. We have now successfully completed this job.
Those interested in the details of the planning and comprehensive testing processes of the pneumatically supported façade composed of ETFE cushions over a 310-m long wooden lattice structure can read all about it in the German Federal Chamber of Engineers‘ yearbook. It is entitled „Ingenieurbaukunst 2014“ and will be published in November 2014. The large-format, richly illustrated book is the most important showcase of German construction engineering and presents the lastest, most spectacular engineering projects worldwide undertaken by German engineers.
„Ingenieurbaukunst 2014“ will be published in German and can be pre-ordered here (http://www.ernst-und-sohn.de/ingenieurbaukunst-2014); after its release, it will also be available as an e-book.
